ExplorationWorks – Actively engage & educate youth in hands-on STEM experiential learning, thus igniting their future interest in higher education and imagining themselves in the STEM field.
Flathead Valley Community College Library Archives – Advocate for post-secondary education through processing & promotion of FVCC archival material, while also educating locals on the preservation of their own family/personal historical materials.
Flathead Valley Community College Library Makerspace – Inspire, empower and support low-income students’ academic success through this innovative summer programming.
Flathead Valley Community College Library Programming – Inspire, empower and support students through the creation of Digital Literacy & Technology Skills Workshops at the Flathead Valley Community College!
Gallatin Valley Food Bank /HRDC – Support and engage in feeding Gallatin Valley youth with fresh, healthy meals in the summer lunch program!
Maps Media Institute, Fort Belknap – Exciting, empowering and creative opportunity engaging youth in media arts at the MAPS media institute at the Fort Belknap Indian Community Program!
Maps Media Institute, Hamilton – Exciting, empowering and creative opportunity engaging youth in media arts at the MAPS media institute in Hamilton!
Missoula Art Museum – Promote, empower and educate youth on contemporary art & creative engagement at the Missoula Art Museum!
Missoula Food Bank & Community Center – Provide support and nourishing food to kids and families, while engaging clients in a stigma-free, fun and educational environment!
Soft Landing – Actively engage, energize & empower local immigrant youth in a dynamic summer program in Missoula, MT!
Zootown Art Community Center – Exciting, empowering and creative opportunity engaging youth in visual & performing arts at the ZACC in Missoula!
University of Montana TRIO Upward Bound – Educate, mentor and empower MT youth in an academic summer program located on the UM-Campus!
AmeriCorps Summer Compensation & Benefits
- Living Allowance: $2,823 total; distributed every two weeks. Subject to 1. federal and state taxes
- Education Award: $1,565.08 can be used to pay for current college tuition, graduate school, or to pay back qualified student loans upon successfully completing term of service. For more information on the Education Award click here.
- Education Award Match Eligibility: Subject to institutional policies. 13 Montana Colleges may match up to $1,000 annually. Please check with campus offices of financial aid to learn if you may be eligible for an institutional match when education award funds are applied to tuition or attendance costs. - Term of Service: 300+ hours of service required to successful complete service and receive the Education Award. We anticipate you will complete closer to 400 hours in 10 weeks as this is a full-time position.
