Reach Higher Montana serves as the backbone organization for the Montana Work-Based Learning Collaborative (WBLC.), located in Helena, MT. The WBLC is a cross-section of 30+ public and private organizations working to improve, enhance, and expand work-based learning in Montana. The VISTA member will support work-based learning opportunities that prepare youth and young adults for employment.
The goal of this project is to enable individuals to access high-demand, high-growth jobs across the state of Montana. The project plans to do so by providing work-based learning opportunities to help youth and young adults build employability skills, professional networks, and career/technical skills. Part of the project will include building infrastructure for employers and programs/educators that can help sustain a high-quality program beyond one supervisor or educator.
This VISTA role will develop communication resources for members of the Work-based Learning Collaborative (WBLC) and program resources to build capacity for programs facilitating and offering work-based learning experiences. The VISTA will report on performance measures such as marketing/digital media collateral created; social media engagement; WBLC member organizations utilizing marketing/digital media collateral; and engagement in WBLC from schools and employers.
Montana Campus Network for Civic Engagement (MCNCE) serves as the intermediary for this project. MCNCE is a CEO-led coalition of colleges and universities that support civic engagement, service learning, and volunteerism across the state. Every year we place cohorts of full-time, part-time, and summer AmeriCorps members with schools, colleges, nonprofits, and government agencies in Montana.
